1.You’re Not Eating Enough

Yes, that’s right. You’re not eating enough. Often times, when people want to loose weight, one of the first things they do is significantly reduce their calorie intake. While it is true that you do need to be in a calorie deficit to achieve weight loss, there is a thin line between the right amount of calories not enough. You don’t want to reduce your caloric intake to the point where your body goes into starvation mode. If you do, chances are you will put on weight, instead of losing it. That leads us to number 2….

 

2.You’re Not Eating At the Right Times

You’ve heard it before, but there is a good reason that you should be eating 6 small meals a day. Breaking your meals into smaller portions to eat throughout the day keeps your metabolism running properly. It also wards of hunger and regulates your blood sugar. Not only will you be less likely to overeat, because you will feel less hungry, but controlling your blood sugar helps to control your waistline.

3.You’re Not Getting Enough Sleep

Not only does not getting enough sleep throw your metabolism out of whack, but it also makes you tired! If you’re tired, you’re less likely to get your workout in and you’re more likely to give into your food cravings. So make sure you are getting enough sleep each night so that you don’t mess with your body’s natural energy system!

4. You Don’t Have Enough Variety

The benefits that you experience from exercise are a result of your body responding to stress. If you do the same workout day after day, your body will eventually get used to it and it won’t respond. Doing the same routine day after day no longer requires a specialized response from your body meaning that you won’t lose weight or build muscle. So, change it up and the rewards will be plentiful.

 

5. You’re Too Hard On Yourself

Our bodies are different. Just because you follow the exact same fitness plan as someone you admire, You may think you're doing everything right, but think again. Weight loss can be tricky. I’ve learned to be comfortable in my body and I know my own limits. Your body may never get above or below a certain weight, and that’s OK too!
